A virtual reality room will open its doors in the city center on Wednesday, November 30. In particular, it will offer a 150 m² space to play a selection of games solo or as a team.
“I’m thrilled and very optimistic. I haven’t even opened yet and I already have reservations.”, rejoices Sébastien Esteban. At the start of 2022, we met this ex-specialist educator who had decided to embark on the deep end of entrepreneurship in order to “bring together all its skills in a single project”. This project – which is no longer a project – is “New Game”, a virtual reality room where players escape into 360° interactive universes using a VR headset (“virtual reality” in English, editor’s note).
About fifty contributors
“With this game mode, you are both actor and spectator in immersive experiences that can be experienced solo but take on their full meaning with others”, details the 35-year-old video game enthusiast. On Friday November 18, Sébastien Esteban inaugurated “New Game” in his 150 m² premises located in the heart of Bastide, rue Pinel, a few steps from Place Carnot. The official opening of the establishment is scheduled for Wednesday, November 30.
Remember, to carry out his project, Sébastien Esteban, had launched a crowdfunding campaign on the Kiss Kiss Bank Bank platform. The ceiling was set at €5,000.
“Thanks to around fifty contributors, I managed to reach the sum set before the end of the campaign. The next step was to find a suitable place for this concept. I looked everywhere: in an industrial zone, in a craft and finally, I turned to the city center. I found a fairly large room with separate rooms. It was perfect for creating several play areas”says the Carcassonne.
Once opened, “New Game” will be able to accommodate up to eight players simultaneously, each installed in a connected game space of approximately 6 m². Indeed, it takes space to move while playing, the VR headset screwed on the nose. Through 19 games – mostly French – they will be able to “to challenge or collaborate”, with family, friends, colleagues, “obviously with a scoreboard to be able to challenge yourself”.
On the program: archery on dragons, futuristic frisbee competition, underwater treasure hunt, fight with zombies, immersion in a space station, drakkar race to the rhythm of drums… “There will be something for all tastes and all ages” assures Sebastian. The games room is also intended to host birthdays, team building sessions (team building, editor’s note) for companies, associations or even sports clubs.
We would like to give thanks to the author of this post for this awesome material
