Intel launches Raptor Lake chips for laptops and mobile devices

Intel is launching a series of processors this week, one of which it says is the fastest chip for mobile and wearable devices, as well as the first to feature 24 cores.

The Core i9-13980HX chip, a member of Intel’s third-generation mobile chipset, codenamed Raptor Lake, is expected to provide better RAM support, dramatically increase graphics application performance, and deliver smoother operation for compute-intensive tasks, such as gaming and content production, the founder said.

The 24 cores include eight dedicated to processing the most complex tasks, and 12 assigned to processing more common and less performance-intensive tasks.

The presentation of this chip is in itself less important than what it brings to the image of Intel in theprocessor industry. In recent years, the founder has lost market share and reputation to rival AMD.
