How to choose your Bouygues mobile plan – The buying guide | NextPit

Summary:

At the end of 2021, Bouygues Telecom had 14.6 million mobile customers, making the operator one of the telecommunications leaders in mainland France. According to the Electronic Communications Regulatory Authority, Bouygues Telecom offers the second best coverage in France.

Before choosing a new package, take stock of your current usage. Analyze your bills and estimate the amount of your data and call usage. Do you regularly travel abroad? And if so in which countries? How many call hours do you count per month? Are you going to change your habits?

These elements will be really useful to you, just like the monthly budget that you will put in your package. If you change operator to Bouygues, also consider looking at the number portability offers. Currently, if you change operator to Bouygues, you can benefit from a monthly reduction of €15 on your 12 or 24 month commitment.

Bouygues Sensation and B&You, what’s the difference?

Bouygues’ mobile offer is available in two types of plans.

Sensation packages which are packages with a 12 to 24 month commitment. These packages allow you to obtain a preferential price on smartphones, a similar smartphone loan in the event of a problem and customer service in store or by phone. These Bouygues packages range from €3 to €70 with an internet connection ranging from 100 MB and up to 240 GB.

For these packages, the Sim card will be charged €5. If you are already subscribed to a box offer, you will receive an additional discount on your package. With the Sensation package you can benefit from a second Sim card allowing you to share your mobile data with another device such as a iPada Galaxy Tab 8 or a connected watch.

The B&You packages, which are non-binding and offer fewer services, are a little more expensive than the Sensation packages. However, they allow you to cancel your plan free of charge. The Sim card for this type of package will cost you 10€ and you notice that the cost of these packages are much higher than those of the Sensation packages.

Why Bouygues and not another operator?

If you already have a Bouygues internet box at home, by switching to Bouygues for your mobile plan, you can benefit from an additional reduction ranging from 3 to 6€ per month. This discount is added to that of the first 12 months of your commitment contract on your mobile plan and up to €15 for your fixed subscription.

With nearly 28 years of existence in mainland France, Bouygues remains a reliable operator. It is the third French incumbent operator. If today the operator focuses on businesses, it is nonetheless an actor for individuals. The quality of its service is considered to be the best solution when it comes to 4G and 5G video streams.

5G coverage

Currently, Bouygues has the second largest 5G fleet in France after Free. 38 major cities and more than 3,000 municipalities are equipped with 5G Bouygues according to the operator. You can find coverage areas here. You can compare Bouygues’ 5G coverage with the operators Free, SFR and Orange thanks to the mapping produced by Arcep.

How to cancel your Bouygues package?

To cancel your Bouygues plan, you will need to send a registered letter stating a reason why you want to end your contract (such as moving abroad). Depending on your commitment to Bouygues, you may incur early cancellation fees.

For more information, you can contact Bouygues customer service at 1064 from a landline or 614 from a Bouygues mobile line or go to the Bouygues cancellation fee simulator. If your contract is coming to the end of its commitment, you can send a registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt indicating that you wish to end your package to the following address: Bouygues Telecom Customer Service Cancellation Service – TSA 59013 – 60643 Chantilly Cedex.

Bouygues Sensation packages are packages with a commitment ranging from 12 to 24 months. With a Sensation plan of 90 GB or more, you can benefit from a smartphone at a reduced price… the same goes for its renewal.

With the Sensation package, you can benefit from a free replacement phone in the event of breakdown, loss or theft if it is still under warranty. This type of plan guarantees you accessibility to customer service by phone, online and in store.

B&You packages are non-binding. They start from €9.99 apart from promotional offers and offer fewer services. However, they allow you to cancel your plan free of charge and are much more expensive than Bouygues’ Sensation plans with commitment. The Sim card for this type of package will also cost you more than with a sensation package since it costs you 10 €. With this type of plan, you will not benefit from mobile advantages.

Commitment Without Without Without

To cope with the evolution of data usage among teenagers, Bouygues Telecom has created a scalable package starting from 1GB per month to 10. This blocked Bouygues package is subject to a 12-month commitment and costs €4.99 if you don’t are not already a Bouygues customer and €1.99 if you are a box customer. The price that does not change for 1 year will be much more expensive once the commitment is over since this package will cost you €14.99/month after one year. In my opinion, this is a scam because in reality, the package goes from 1GB to 5GB over the year of commitment before going to 10GB for €14.99/month.

During the first 6 months of the contract, your teenagers will benefit from 1 GB of internet connection, two hours of calls in mainland France and unlimited SMS and MMS. After his 6 months, 5 GB of connection will be unlocked and he will benefit from 5 GB of connection and unlimited calls, SMS and MMS. After one year and the end of the commitment, 10GB will be unlocked but the plan will cost you €14.99/month.

The multi-Sim offer

You can benefit from an additional Sim card for the sum of 2€ per month. This offer is non-binding. You will be able to share your internet envelope on a second mobile device such as a iPada Galaxy Tab 8 or a connected watch without having to activate connection sharing on your smartphone. Note that if you opt for a Bouygues Sensation package of 90GB or more, you can benefit from a second SIM card without having to pay these €2 per month.

internet travel pass

Benefiting from a very small gigabyte of internet abroad for 7 days for €20 is a bit of an overkill, but Bouygues has done it.
Its “new Travel Internet Pass” allows you to benefit from a gigabyte of connection in 110 countries including South Africa, Brazil, Canada, the United States, Indonesia, Japan, Morocco, Mexico, Russia, Thailand or the Seychelles.

If you travel a lot across Europe, the United States, Canada, Brazil, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, Israel, Japan, Russia and/or Turkey, your budget is more than 50€ or more we recommend the 240GB Sensation package from Bouygues. This allows you to benefit from 130GB of internet per month in the countries mentioned above.

If you have to travel outside Europe, remember to take a Sim card integrating Data and Calls. This will often cost you much less than using your plan abroad.
