While the GeForce RTX 4080 12 GB had been announced from 899 dollars / 1099 euros, its replacement would be offered from 799 dollars, a drop of around 11%. In euros, we can therefore count on an amount of less than 1000 euros (for the least expensive models).
Next Tuesday, NVIDIA will officially launch the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti ; this graphics card, which is a renamed GeForce RTX 4080 12 GB, will be released a few hours later, starting on January 5. All the specifications of this reference have been known for a long time; in fact, since September and the formalization of three GeForce RTX 4000s at the time. The only change could be the price: the GeForce RTX 4080 12 GB was announced at $899, but some expect a price drop for the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti. However, this speculation seemed undermined by first rates from China. The latter suggested maintaining the call price of 899 dollars. However, according to multiple sources, NVIDIA finally priced the RTX 4070 Ti at $799, which is 11% lower than the $899 for the RTX 4080 12GB.

However it’s worth mentioning they did briefly consider $899, and I really wouldn’t be surprised if they changed their minds again.
Either way expect some AIBs to charge well over MSRP if it “starts” close to or at $799.
According to Expreview and BoardChannels, in China the entry price would be 6499 RMB (about 933 dollars), and not 7199 RMB as suggested a few days ago. Note that there will be no GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Founders Edition; NVIDIA would still have asked its partners to offer some non-overclocked models sold at the recommended price.
Pricing $799 would make the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti half the price of the RTX 4090. The upcoming Ampere card has half the VRAM (12GB GDDR6X instead of 24GB GDDR6X) but less than half the number of cores (7680 CUDA cores vs 16384 cores).
Finally, in euros, the price of the GeForce RTX 4080 12 GB was to be 1099 euros. A drop of 11% would reduce this amount to approximately 980 euros. We can thus hope for a price symbolically lower than 1000 euros for certain references.
