European Responsible Digital Week

The Villes Internet association has been a partner of the European Responsible Digital Week, from its first edition organized in 2021 by the city and the Eurometropolis of Strasbourg. For this second edition, Villes Internet offers activities aimed at elected officials, agents and anyone interested in local digital policies. June 2 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m..

02/06 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.: seminar for community agents “Building a sustainable and responsible digital policy”
Administrative Center – Conference room – 1 Parc de l’Etoile, 67000 Strasbourg

Lasting 3 hours, the seminar will present key information and figures on the environmental footprint of digital technology with the aim of implementing a sustainable and responsible digital policy in community services. Agents will be invited to work on concrete cases of measures to be taken in relation to the reality of their service. The seminar will be led by Anna Angeli and Florence Poznanski, senior consultants.

Place limited to 20 participants. Priority will be given to agents of the Eurometropolis of Strasbourg and to agents of local authorities that are members of the Eurometropolis, as well as to agents of local authorities that are members of Villes Internet in the department.

02/06 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.: public meeting “Enjoying digital while protecting the planet is possible!

We will address one of the biggest digital challenges in which there are pitfalls and paradoxes. Create tools to reduce energy consumption, tools which are themselves generators of digital pollution. How to avoid contradictions? It’s about taking the time to think of the solutions before the problems arise. Do not try to green measures when they are in place but think of measures that are structurally respectful of the environment. The speakers will share their experience and propose concrete solutions to reduce the environmental impact of digital technology.
