Since the start of the health crisis, the city of Bort-les-Orgues has supported its merchants, in particular via the Ma ville Mon shopping platform.
The municipality, labeled Small Towns of Tomorrow, has signed a three-year partnership with the Mavillemonshopping.fr platform to support local trade and crafts. Thanks to this partnership, supported by the Banque des Territoires to the tune of 20,000 euros, professionals can benefit from a space to sell online and make their business more visible.
The Bortois can find all the local offer in one click and benefit from promotional offers supported by the city. The shops of merchants, craftsmen and producers from Borte, registered on the platform, are available online 24 hours a day with possible home delivery by the postman, Colissimo delivery anywhere in France, or Click & Collect.
Several merchants and craftsmen already offer their services online on the platform, for distance selling or in-store. Others use it as a simple showcase to promote their products, the purchase being made in store only.

E-commerce is a means of promoting shops and the Bortoise offer, well beyond municipal borders. The grouping of professionals on the same page makes it possible to acquire an additional sales force.
For those who have not yet registered, the town hall encourages them to do so thanks in particular to free registration and Vincent Thomas, digital referent, is available for any information at L’Espace Numérique.
Raise awareness of businesses
For Françoise Géraudie, who runs the Pépins de pomme boutique, this platform is a plus. “During confinement, we all thought about a solution so that we could continue to work. A presentation of the Ma ville Mon shopping platform was made by the town hall to all merchants. It appeared to be a good solution for creating a showcase or a commercial site for our shops. “, she says before listing the advantages. “The advantage of this platform is that you can find all the businesses in the city in one place, which allows for group communication, and to highlight local businesses while being on the a website. For Françoise Géraudie, this platform is a “tool for connecting merchants and customers. The goal is to introduce our businesses to a greater number of people, and to promote local purchases rather than on large merchant sites. The interest for the merchant is to reach new customers who do not necessarily want to spend time in the shop but who want to consume on the spot despite everything. Another advantage: the potential buyer thus has an overview of the store and can contact the merchant if necessary, for more information. “The goal is not to replace physical commerce, which remains essential for all cities to maintain their attractiveness, but to offer an additional means of consuming locally”, specifies the shopkeeper.
