Orange remains the most expensive operator on fiber and mobile subscriptions

While we are experiencing global inflation in France, the prices of packages for a fiber subscription or a mobile subscription have never been so low. Orange is still one of the most expensive operators on these two services.

This is Ariase’s June 2022 price barometer which reveals that the prices of Internet subscriptions and mobiles of our ISP and telephone operators have never been so low. All this in view of inflation of 5.2% over one year in France, although this increase is not the same depending on the product/service.

25 euros on average for a fiber box, RED by SFR below the competition

The subscription comparator Ariase notes that the average monthly price for a fiber subscription this month is 25.42 euros. While the decline compared to other periods is not significant, it is more so with regard to overall price inflation. This average represents a drop of 4.2% over one year.

The most interesting Internet access provider is RED, the offer low cost from SFR, with an average subscription of 20.79 euros for an entry-level offer. The most expensive in this sector is none other than the historic ISP Orange with an average of 34.16 euros.

15 euros on average for a mobile plan, Bouygues Telecom and RED by SFR competitive

As for mobile contracts, the average cost of a mobile phone plan with unlimited calls and more than 10 GB of mobile data is 15.08 euros. This represents a fairly substantial drop of 18% over one year, while inflation this year is 5.2%. A drop which can also be explained by the massive arrival of 5G in France; these plans being much more expensive, the 4G plans were able to drop in price in order to create a range effect.

The most competitive telephone operator in this segment is Bouygues Telecom with a subscription at 9.41 euros, but RED by SFR is not left out either with 9.42 euros. They are very far ahead of Orange and SFR who offer similar packages at nearly 23 euros.

Regarding the price differences on mobile plans and fiber subscriptions between operators, they can be partly explained. Some mobile operators will include more or less data abroad (outside European zones, etc.), a loyalty program to change smart phoneor additional services.
