Free Mobile makes life easier for its subscribers by giving them the possibility of fine-tuning the use of their line thanks to a free service called “Calls & SMS/MMS Filters”
Many Free Mobile subscribers are not in the habit of snooping around in their subscriber space to discover and test the options offered for free. An available service however deserves to be interested in it, it is about filters for the emission and the reception of calls, SMS and MMS.
“Once the filter rules are in place, you will no longer receive incoming and/or outgoing communications (depending on what you have decided) from the numbers indicated”explains Free.
To access this service, go to the “My services” section from “My mobile plan”. By clicking on the “Add a rule” button a window opens, allowing you to configure your new filter for the two categories, outgoing and incoming. From this window, you can create a filter dedicated to a contact by entering its line number in the “Number” text field. If you wish to apply this filter to all your correspondents, tick the “All numbers” box.
Define the time ranges to which you want this new filter to be applied. It is by default applied all day and all week, but you have the possibility to refine the hours as well as the days by unchecking the boxes ”All day” and “All week”.
Finally, choose the “target” (Calls or SMS/MMS): Choose a type of communication (Calls or SMS/MMS), then the action to apply:
To allow : Authorize incoming or outgoing calls or SMS/MMS on your line.
To block : Block incoming or outgoing calls or SMS/MMS on your line.
Redirect to email (Incoming calls only): Calls from the correspondent(s) you choose to filter will be redirected directly to your voicemail.
You will receive an SMS indicating that a correspondent has tried to reach you. (If SMS reception has not been blocked.).
Receive after set period (incoming SMS/MMS only): Indicate the time slot during which you do not wish to receive SMS/MMS, and receive your SMS/MMS deferred at the end of this period. “Save” your preferences, your new communication filter is created.
If you create several communication filters, you have the option of ranking them in order of preference. Filters will be applied according to their position in the list. The filter to be applied in priority must therefore be at the top of the list. Don’t forget to “Save” your list after each filter move.
If you do not wish to receive calls during your working hours from Monday to Friday, here is the procedure to follow:
Add a filter for “Incoming communications”, the configuration window opens.
Check the “All numbers” box, and add a filter description.
Choose the type of communication, and the “Block” action.
Uncheck the “All day” box and choose the time slot during which you want to apply the filter, for example from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Uncheck the “All week” box and choose the days on which you want to apply the filter, for example, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
Save. Your filter is created, and will be repeated until it is deleted.
