The BPCE bank (Banque Populaire Caisse d’Epargne) created BPCE IT Solutions to meet the needs of its retail banking businesses. Gwilherm Le Donné has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of this new entity since 1er april. The creation of BPCE IT Solutions is part of the ‘BPCE 2024’ strategic plan.

Consolidation of Retail software development teams

The announced objective is to simplify the banking group’s IT by bringing together the Retail software development teams in a joint venture, for all of the retail banking businesses of the BPCE group. Gwilherm Le Donné reports to Laurent Benatar, Chief Technology and Operations Officer and member of the General Management Committee of Groupe BPCE.

BCPE brings together professionals from i-BP, IT-CE and CIOs from the SEF (Financial Services and Expertise) and Insurance business lines

BPCE IT Solutions brings together 2,600 people, information systems professionals from i-BP (Banque Populaire IT), IT-CE (Caisse d’Epargne IT and Technologies) and CIOs from the SEF business lines (Financial Services and Expertise) and group insurance. This new group announces an annual recruitment of around 100 people on permanent contracts and 100 work-study students in IT.

A presence throughout France

BPCE IT Solutions is present throughout France via 19 regional offices. The company designs banking and insurance solutions for Banque Populaire, Caisse d’Epargne, Crédit Coopératif, Banque de Savoie, Crédit Maritime, Banque BCP, Banque Palatine and Socfim advisers and customers. It also develops IT applications for head office employees and back offices in insurance and specialized financial services such as consumer credit, factoring, leasing, etc.

Gwilherm Le Donné, X and Telecom engineer, began his career at the Ministry of the Interior

Gwilherm Le Donné, Chief Executive Officer of BPCE IT Solutions is an engineer with a degree from Ecole Polytechnique and Télécom Paris. He began his career as head of the Telecoms office at the Ministry of the Interior from 1993 to 1996. He works as project manager for IT projects intended for the national police or civil security, in the areas of messaging operational and command rooms.

He then headed the IS division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs until 2000. He then joined GC2I as Director of Information Systems until 2001, a position he would then occupy at the creation of Informatique Banque Populaire, before to be appointed deputy managing director of the company in 2011. From 2014 to 2015, he led the project to create BPCE Infogérance et Technologies before taking over as general manager until 2018. In April of that same year, he was appointed Managing Director of IT-CE.
