In 2023, people with hearing impairments will be able to benefit from new technologies in the field of hearing aids. A catalog of hearing aids makes it possible to follow these technological advances which will allow better management of hearing loss, with ever more connected solutions and capable of providing useful health data to monitor the state of hearing.

Filter out background noise

Artificial intelligence, advanced and automatic signal processing, as well as motion sensors are among the innovations that will be integrated into hearing aids in 2023. For example, OVP 2.0 (Own Voice Processing) technology from Signia (formerly Siemens) allows you to filter out background noise to better hear your own voice and those of those close to you, while Starkey Evolv AI’s Edge Mode uses artificial intelligence to adapt the sound according to the environment. Widex Moment’s ZeroDelay technology, on the other hand, provides delay-free transmission between the hearing aid and the voice assistant, enabling better speech understanding in noisy situations.

More and more connected devices

In 2023, hearing solutions will also go beyond simple hearing correction. Indeed, many hearing aids will be able to track health data, such as heart rate or sleep quality. This data may be useful for monitoring hearing health and making remote adjustments based on this data. In addition, hearing aids will be increasingly connected, especially to smartphones, which will allow them to be used as voice assistants to perform simple tasks or receive notifications.

A wide range of devices and prices

How to choose ? There is a wide range of hearing aids, of different brands, different models and different prices. The choice will take several criteria into account and, first of all, the nature and degree of the hearing to be corrected (mild, average, severe or deep). But also, of course, the price, linked to the technology which varies from 950 euros to 2,000 euros for high-end devices.
Note that all these devices are discreet, elegant, robust, battery-powered or rechargeable and they offer excellent listening performance.

100% support

Since 2021, the 100% Health reform in hearing aids has also enabled better care for people with hearing disorders. Thanks to this reform, recipients of ACS (Complementary Health Assistance) can now benefit from 100% reimbursement for the purchase of their hearing aid, under certain conditions. This reform aims to make access to audio prosthetic care more accessible and to promote the adoption of innovative technologies.

Hearing disorders in 5 to 6 million French people

Hearing loss is a disability that should not be overlooked. Hearing is one of our five senses that allows us to apprehend and understand the world around us. Hearing disorders affect between five and six million French people. These disorders can be of natural origin, due to age, or be the consequence of random events such as prolonged exposure to noise (at work for example) or sudden exposure (an explosion).
In 2023, people with hearing impairments will be able to benefit from new technologies in the field of hearing aids.
If you have a hearing problem, don’t be deaf to hearing innovations!
